Long Review:

When the strange and secretive Mr. Frank moves into their apartment building, brothers Sam and Robert soon learn he’s someone to watch out for – the rude man doesn’t take kindly to any interference. But when the brothers learn about the secret experiments Mr. Frank performs that use a lot of electricity, and when they hear complaints from neighbors about the strange noises that emanate from Mr. Frank’s apartment, the boys become convinced that he’s Dr. Frankenstein – and they set out to prove their hunch, hopefully without becoming Mr. Frank(enstein)’s next victims. Though this funny, spooky mystery has a late-1970s flavor, it will still keep young readers on the edge of their seats and guessing until the ambiguous ending – was he Frankenstein, or wasn’t he? The brothers Sam and Robert Bamford also star in two other “monster” mysteries, Dracula is a Pain in the Neck, and Wolfman Sam.
