Arnold Lobel wrote four award-winning and now classic beginning readers about affable Frog and curmudgeonly Toad, who are the best of friends. Now you can listen to all four of the books about this winsome amphibian duo, read with simple sweetness and charm by the author himself – a real treat!
Long Review:

Affable Frog and curmudgeonly Toad are the best of friends, and whether they’re cleaning house, flying a kite, looking for lost buttons, raking leaves, waiting for the mail, telling scary stories, sledding in the winter, or sharing ice cream cones in summer, they love nothing better than spending their days together. They worry about each other, look out for each other, help each other, and just plain enjoy each other’s company. Arnold Lobel wrote and illustrated four award-winning and now classic books about this winsome amphibian duo: Frog and Toad Are Friends, Frog and Toad All Year, Frog and Toad Together, and Days with Frog and Toad. And here, all the wonderful stories from these four beloved books are gathered together on one cassette, read by Lobel himself. Accompanied by music and a few sound effects (like snoring and rainfall), Lobel reads with the simple sweetness and charm that sets the Frog and Toad stories above almost all other beginning readers. Exuding good-natured enthusiasm, he slightly alters his voice to capture the different demeanors and personalities of Frog and Toad. As Lobel introduces each book, he encourages young readers to follow along with their own copy of the book. While this can be a good way for a newly independent reader to gain confidence (with the added bonus of being able to look at Lobel’s delightful illustrations), it is not necessary to have the books in front of you to enjoy listening to this tape. With the Frog and Toad stories, Lobel has given us some of the most moving and heartfelt portrayals of the simple, yet powerful joys of friendship one will ever read – and now that one will ever listen to!
